18th Century house in which E.A. Hornel, the artist of "Glasgow Boys" fame, added
a gallery and studio. The Japanese influenced garden is still much as he created it.
The house contains many of his paintings and an extensive collection of Scottish
books; including titles by local authors (e.g S.R. Crocket), an exceptional Burns
collection, Thomas Carlyle; Scott; Barrie etc.
